This study (double-blind standardized and placebo-controlled) examined the effect of evening intake of ALAC on subjective and objective sleep in male subjects without sleep disorders (n.10). After 2 nights with evening intake of ALAC or placebo of Na caseinate one hour before bedtime. Evening intake of ALAC led to an objective and subjective improvement in total sleep time of 12.8% and 10.8% respectively placebo response.

Objective sleep efficiency increased by 7% with significant effects for other sleep indices with ALAC.
